Breaking: Court Of Appeal Gives CCT Go Ahead To Try Saraki


The court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has on Friday morning given the Code of Conduct Tribunal the go ahead to try Senate President Bukola Saraki's case.
In a unanimous verdict of the three man panel, Justice Moore Adumen of the Court of Appeal upheld the trial of Senate President, adding that the tribunal, which docked the Senate President on 22 September and 21 October was properly constituted.

Cross River Governor Ayade Orders Suspension Of Prayers In Schools


Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has ordered the suspension of any type of prayers in public or private primary and secondary school in the state.
The governor also directed that all teachers with effect from next year must be in suits during official hours. The directive which was sent to all zonal heads in the state said,

Appeal Court To Deliver Judgment On Saraki’s Case Today


The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal will on Friday (today) decide on whether or not to quash the charges of false assets declaration preferred against Senate President Bukola Saraki before the Code of Conduct Tribunal. Saraki had filed his appeal before the appellate court to challenge the competence of the charges filed against him and the constitution of the tribunal, which he said comprised two members instead of the three provided for by law.

Maria Ekanem, a 20-year-old school drop out from Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State, said yesterday in Calabar that poverty and lack of where to stay after she gave birth made her sell her two weeks old baby girl for N20,000.
Maria, who was arrested by the police along five other accomplices, said her boyfriend who got her pregnant, asked her to abort the baby but said a doctor helped her with free antenatal care and food until she gave birth.

With less than 1 day to the deadline for Bank Verification Number, BVN, about 26 million account holders still haven't registered to protect their money.
The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has said no extension would be granted after the deadline expires and customers who still haven't registered will have no access to their money or any transaction in their account.

Plane Catches Fire On Runway At Fort Lauderdale Airport.


The engine of a Boeing 767 carrying 101 people caught fire as the plane taxied for departure Thursday at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida, officials said. It was bound for Caracas, Venezuela. Fifteen people were injured, one with serious burns, said Broward County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mike Jachles. Two other people suffered less serious injuries, he said, and the remaining dozen people were described as “walking wounded” who suffered bruises, bumps, contusions and other minor injuries.

3 New Cases Of Ebola Reported In Guinea


Three individuals have contracted Ebola in Guinea, bringing the total number of people infected in the country to 9. Fode Tass Sylla, spokesman for the national center for the fight against Ebola, told Reuters that the three new cases occurred in Forecariah in western Guinea. They contracted the virus from the family of a woman who died of Ebola and whose body was handled without appropriate protection.

4 Houses Razed By Fire On Aiyeleto Street, Surulere (Photos)

Lat night, four houses on Aiyeleto street, Surulere, Lagos were razed by fire. Thankfully, residents were able to evacuate so no serious injuries but properties worth millions of naira were destroyed.

Prostitute dies in Enugu after marathon sex with several customers

A commercial sex worker, simply identified as Roseline ,died on Sunday morning at a brothel in Obollo-Afor, Udenu Council Area, after marathon sex with three customers.One Ikechukwu Oga has been arrested in connection with the death.A source disclosed to Daily Post that Ikechukwu had gone in for his turn, after two other customers, adding that on the process, Roseline died.

Akure Court jails guard for raping 9 year old girl


An Akure Chief Magistrates’ Court today October 25th sentenced a security guard, Onoja Abel, to seven years imprisonment for raping a nine-year-old girl. Abel had lured the girl into his room and raped her three times, between September to October 2015.
