Supreme Court Sacks All PDP Legislators In Anambra State..

A full panel of Nigeria’s Supreme Court of Nigeria today in Abuja sacked the entire contingent of senators and members of the House of Representatives from Anambra State.  The decision swept away a host of lawmakers from Anambra State who were illegally foisted on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) by former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan.
The court’s ruling ended the senatorial tenure of former Aviation Minister and first-term senator, Stella Oduah, and aborted the legislative career of former presidential aide, Andy Uba. Also affected are members of the House of Representatives elected on the ticket of the PDP.

Banks, Hotels, Schools Sealed In Anambra Over Tax Evasion.


No fewer than 35 buildings in the industrial town of Nnewi, Anambra State were sealed today for refusal of the owners to pay property rate of over N150 million. According to the the Head, Human Resources and Administration, Anambra Property and Land Use Charge (APLUC), Chinenye Okafor, the closure followed various court judgments obtained against the tax evaders. According to her, they have been pleading for the past 2 years to pay up, but nothing has come forth.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has denied the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra,IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, bail. Ruling on the bail application, Justice John Tsoho ordered that the Director of Radio Biafra and two other accused persons be remanded in Kuje prison pending their trial.

3 Schoolboys 'Boiled To Death' After Falling Into Hot Sewer(Photos)

Three schoolboys who fell into a hot sewer were "boiled to death".

The young boys, aged eight, died in the 80C underground conduit after one of them initially tumbled into it and the other two tried to mount a rescue effort.

El-Rufai Suspends Monarch Caught With Marijuana


The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has suspended the Village Head of Goma in Gimi District of Danga Local Government Area, Alhaji Danladi Ibrahim, over a drug-related offence.
The suspension came after the monarch was allegedly found in possession of 1.5kg of marijuana (India hemp) when he was arrested by the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on January 20, this year.

Dino Melaye, a senator from Kogi west, has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter to the national assembly as a misplacement anger, accusing him of introducing corruption into the national assembly. Obasanjo had written a letter to the national assembly accusing it of insincerity for its planned purchase of 469 cars worth N4.7bn. But Melaye, in a riposte on Thursday, said the former president introduced corruption into the national assembly in his bid to run for a third term in office.

Expectant Mum Suffers Womb Rupture In Lagos Police Cell!


An expectant mother, Mrs Tosin Taiwo, is battling to save her unborn baby after allegedly suffering a womb rupture following her collapse in police custody on Tuesday.
Mrs Taiwo who claimed to have bled for two days in police cell, said she was rushed to Randle General Hospital in Surulere, where it took doctors two hours to revive her.

Former president Goodluck Jonathan has said he won’t be speaking on the current $2.1bn arms scam now because the matter is in court. Speaking at Geneva Press Club on Security, and Development in Africa, the former President said he would not like to comment on the arms probe matter now because his comment could affect witnesses and the judicial proceeding that had been initiated by the current administration.

Lady Dies Of Lassa Fever In Lagos.

A 27 year old lady died from Lassa fever in Lagos on Tuesday January 26th. ‎Confirming her death, the Lagos state Commissioner for Health, Jide Idris, said the lady died of the disease at the Ijede General Hospital. She is said to have traveled to Lagos from Edo state on January 2nd and had been down with a fever.

Malaysia-based popular Lagos Yahoo boy, Hope Olusegun Aroke, popularly called H-Money and referred to as “Oracle to gba ise wole,”has been sentenced to 24 years imprisonment by Justice Lateefa Okunnu of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja, for his involvement in an internet scam that fetched him N25million.

Former Inspector General of Police, Sunday Adewusi, has died. He died yesterday night at the National Hospital, Abuja after a brief illness. Nigeria Force Public Relations Officer, Bisi Kolawole, confirmed his death. The deceased was IGP from 1981 to 1983 - the youngest officer to head the country’s police force. May his soul rest in peace, amen.

Woman Steals Fiancee's $1.5 Million, Attempts To Murder Him In Lagos.


The Police have accused a 46-year-old woman, Victoria Alaegbu, of attempting to kill her fiancé and stealing his 1.5 million dollars cash, equivalent to N295.5 million.
Alaegbu, whose address was not given, was arraigned Wednesday at an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on a five-count charge bordering on conspiracy, attempt to kill, stealing, unlawful detention and possession of a fake document.

Kogi State on Wednesday made another unusual history as its fourth democratically elected governor, Yahaya Bello, was sworn in without a deputy!
The man nominated by the All Progressives Congress to be Mr. Bello’s deputy, James Faleke, made good his threat not to present himself for swearing in with the governor.
He was conspicuously absent at Wednesday’s ceremony, and no replacement was announced at the event.

A woman from Gboko, Benue State allegedly killed her 4-year-old daughter and dumped her body inside a water well. According to Idoma Voice, the gruesome murder happened at Tom-Anyiin Akaajime Gboko East. The suspect is currently on the run.

OAU Suspends Student Union Leaders


Authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, have suspended three student union leaders for allegedly assaulting a professor. The affected student leaders are; the SU President, Omotayo Akande, who bagged six semesters (three years); Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojedokun, four semesters (two years); and the Secretary General, Seun Oketooto; four semesters (two years).

Landlady Arrested For Connecting A Pipe Inside Her Water Well, To NNPC Pipeline


Mrs Folayinka Ayinde, 59, has been arrested and detained over her alleged role in vandalising NNPC pipeline in Isheri Olofin area, Lagos State. She allegedly connected a pipe inside her water well to NNPC pipeline and had been using it to illegally siphon petrol for the past 3 years.

Two men, who allegedly had anal s3x inside a jeep, were on Tuesday docked at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court. The accused – Innocent Egbuna, 33, and Jide Ajayi, 21 – are being tried for a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and act of gross indecency.  Egbuna, who claimed to be a soldier, lives at No. 22, Support Regiment, Ijebu-Ode in Ogun, while Ajayi, an unemployed, is a resident of No. 28, Owoduni St., Onipanu on Ikorodu Expressway.

A music teacher has been arrested after he allegedly threw a baby girl out of a first-floor window when the infant's mother caught him sexually abusing her.
The 17-month-old girl remains in intensive care in a 'grave' condition after she was reportedly hurled out of the 12-foot-high window in Vitoria-Gasteiz, northern Spain, yesterday.

On returning home…“I went to Ojulowo Eye Clinic in Ibadan but I had no money to pay the bill. When Onigbinde heard about my return to Nigeria, he called me and helped me. He paid my bill at Ojulowo but the problem was only solved halfway”.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun Command, has arrested two suspects, who pretended to be mad, for being in possession of a decomposing human head.
The suspects, Alaba Folawiyo and Mutiu Lawal, according to Mr. Wale Folarin, the state’s NSCDC Public Relations Officer, were hiding in an uncompleted building near Apomu Junction in Ikire, headquarters of Irewole LGA, when they were arrested.
