The suspension was announced in a statement this evening and. This means no Nigerian team or club can participate in any FIFA competition.

The FIFA Emergency Committee has decided today, 9 July 2014, to suspend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect, on account of government interference. Article 13, par. 1 and article 17, par. 1 of the FIFA Statutes oblige member associations to manage their affairs independently and with no influence from third parties.
The decision follows a letter sent by FIFA to the NFF on 4 July 2014, in which it expressed its great concern after the NFF was served with court proceedings and consequently an order preventing the president of the NFF, the NFF Executive Committee members and the NFF Congress from running the affairs of Nigerian football was granted by a High Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The said court order compelled the Nigerian Minister of Sports to appoint a senior member of the civil service to manage the NFF until the matter was heard in court, without giving any date for such a hearing. The authorities then appointed a person who decided to convene an extraordinary general assembly on 5 July 2014. This extraordinary general assembly was convened in violation of the NFF statutes.
Originally, an elective congress had been planned by the NFF to take place on 26 August 2014.
The suspension will be lifted once the court actions have been withdrawn and the properly elected NFF Executive Committee, the NFF

An anonymous member of the dreaded Boko haram sect said spoke to Tobi Oladipo of BBC World radio saying the Chibok Girls are all living well and would be released if the government releases their jailed members Contrary to reports by a serving senator that they are being shot and raped. Read:
I am telling you a fact...they don't have a problem. Some of them have belief in Islam, some of them say they would not convert to Islam but we didn't differentiate them, we treat them equally. They are healthy, feeding and all these. We didn't differentiate between them at all, why because, Allah commands us to do them equally. Some of them say they would not come back to Islam, we ask them to stay, no problem. There is no forcing in Islam but some of them not Muslims are converting to Islam but we are not differentiating them. If you see them now, you would see they don't have any problem. Under Islam, killing children and women is not accepted you understand, but if they are fighting you, then you must fight them but if they are not fighting you, then it is not accepted weather they are Muslims or non-Muslims. Do not fight them, it is not accepted but if you bomb somewhere or make arrest somewhere, it will affect them but killing children and women is not accepted"
"If today the government releases our members, tomorrow or the next day we promise you can see all of them sure. We would release them tomorrow or the next day." he said.

Gunmen Invade UNILAG, Kills Student!
According to The Punch, a University of Lagos student was reportedly shot in the head yesterday by unidentified gunmen at the King Jaja Hall area of the university on Monday. Fortunately, the student who was identified as Sapara, a final year student of Philosophy, had his face covered in blood instead of being dead after the bullet scraped the side of his head. He was subsequently taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, and official report have it that he is in a stable condition.
The incident had however led to chaos as students were seen running in different directions after the gunshot was heard. According to eyewitnesses, they saw a car speed off after the shooting, noting that the perpetrators might have carried out the attack from there. The Dean of Students' Affairs of the University, Prof. Olukayode Amund, has also confirmed that Sapara was indeed shot and currently recuperating at LUTH, stating that investigations had begun to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack, after which requisite actions would be taken.
When asked whether the attack was carried out by cultists, Amund noted that though it was not yet confirmed, it was a likely possibility. According to him, only cultists are known to carry out operations of this nature. And although normal day-to-day activities went on at the university on Tuesday as students went about writing their ongoing examinations, some are weary that reprisal actions could take place. In January, unconfirmed reports had it that a student was axed at the New Hall axis of the campus. Responding to this, Amund said the university was working with the police to find useful leads.

Police Parade Suspected Baby Factory Operators In Rivers State!
Three pregnant women and a 36-year-old man suspected to be involved in producing babies for sale were paraded by the Rivers State Police Command yesterday July 8th, Punch reports.
The suspects, who were arrested in Igwuruta, Rivers state on July 5th, were identified as Odinchinma Nwala (25), Glory Anyanwu (22), Goodness Nwankwo (19), and Stanley Okechukwu (male, 36).
The DPO of Igwuruta Police Station, Mr. Bello Muhammed, who spoke with newsmen, explained how the suspects were arrested, saying they were alerted by well meaning Nigerians.
"We sent a patrol team that went and confirmed the information. When the police traced and arrested Okechukwu, who took the team to where he kept the girls on Saturday, July 5, 2014, it was discovered that the suspects had been involved in the business for a long time."
"The girls were brought from different local government areas, and further investigation revealed that after delivering, he will settle (pay) the girls N100,000 per baby girl and N150,000 for a baby boy before selling the babies," the DPO said.
Mohammed said that investigation was ongoing to get to the root of the matter, adding that child trafficking remains an offence in the country.
However, Okechukwu, who spoke with newsmen, denied operating a baby factory. He said that he was only rendering assistance to the young pregnant women.
Also, one of the pregnant women, who identified herself as Glory Anyanwu, said she was eight months pregnant, even as she denied that they were being kept for a baby producing business.
"He (Okechukwu) saw me in this condition and decided to assist me by offering me and my unborn baby accommodation. But I know the person that impregnated me," Anyanwu said.
