The explosion took place in the popular Ratchaprasong district in the heart of the Thai capital few hours ago. At least 27 are dead, including 10 men and 17 women, while 80 more were injured after a motorbike bomb attack that government bosses say deliberately targeted tourists. Four foreigners are believed to be among the dead while police are still hunting two or three more devices. Many of the victims were probably visiting the Erawan Shrine or several shopping centres in the area when the attack took place. Security video showed a powerful flash (centre) as the bomb exploded during rush hour this evening. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the blast. See more photos after the cut.
