Photos: 100 killed After Indonesian Military Plane Crashes Into Residential Area!

No fewer than 100 people were killed after an Indonesian military plane, C-130 Hercules carrying 113 passengers crashed into Medan, the third largest residential area in Indonesia. According to Indonesia's Air force chief, Air Marshall Agus Supriatna, the pilot told the control tower that the plane needed to turn back because of engine trouble. "The plane crashed while it was turning right to return to the airport," Supriatna said.

The Lagos State Government has given okada (motorcycle) riders in the state 21-day ultimatum to leave restricted routes. The government met with okada unions on Thursday at the state secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, where the ultimatum was given. The Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Tunji Bello, who chaired the meeting, said the government decided to give the riders 21-day ultimatum for the unions to sensitise their members to vacate the restricted routes before enforcement would begin.

Gunmen Kill Policemen, Kidnap Two Lebanese.

Some gunmen on Wednesday shot two policemen dead and abducted two Lebanese nationals in Bayelsa State. The incident occurred at the riverside town of Onuegbum in the Ogbia Local Government Area of the state. The identities of the slain policemen attached to a construction firm, Pache, dredging sand in the area, could not be immediately ascertained. The deceased policemen were said to be a sergeant and a corporal. The Lebanese were identified as Sarki Chmouli and Ibrahim Abi Pherem.

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 52-year-old school teacher, Isaac Ikiabeke, for allegedly raping a 5-year-old pupil in the Ikorodu area. Ikiabeke, who is the proprietor of the school, Brighter Glory School, located on Etunrere Street, raped his victim after school hours.
The victim, five-year-old Pat (not her real name), said Ikiabeke had allegedly raped her 10 times.
