A bar where teenage female girls dance naked have been uncovered by a vigilante group with the operator arrested in Asaba. The bar which is situated in Asaba hosts bizarre activities, like pornographic shows, especially during the weekends. Head of the vigilante group, Chukudi Nnamdi while confirming the arrest said the suspect has been handed over to the police.

Rev. Francis Alex Okafor died by drowning during a recent send-forth party organised in his honour at the Ibeshe Beach in Oriade Lo­cal Council Development Area of Lagos state.

Army Reinstates 2,500 Soldiers, 102 Officers.


The Nigerian Army has recalled over 2,500 soldiers who were asked to withdraw from service for alleged offences committed under the counter- insurgency operations code named Operation Zaman Lafiya. The review panel set up by the Army, which began sitting in Kaduna on August 17, has also screened and reinstated 102 officers, who were sentenced or facing prosecution in relation to the operations in the North-East. The reinstated soldiers and officers, it was learnt, had commenced retraining at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kontangora, Niger State.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Friday, stated that there was no alternative to democracy, as he almost lost his life to a dictator under a military rule. Obasanjo and some other retired military officers and civilians were jailed in 1995 by the military government of the late Gen. Sani Abacha, after he was found guilty by a military tribunal of allegedly plotting to overthrow Abacha’s administration. They were released after the dictator’s death in 1998.
