7Month Old Baby Dumped At A Dust Bin In Igando, Lagos!

 

 It was tears and curses when a seven-month-old baby was found dumped in a heap of rubbish beside Lanre bus stop in the Igando area of Lagos State. The baby which was said to be suffering from an unknown ailment with a very big head, was discovered early yesterday morning by a passer-by who heard the cries of the poor baby and raised the alarm. Residents of the area quickly rushed to the scene to behold the sorry sight, with many women breaking into tears.

2 Sentenced To Death For Stealing Fowls In Osun State!

 

The Osun High Court in Okuku, has sentenced two men to death for stealing fowls. The convicts, Olowookere Seguana & Morakinyo Sunday were found guilty of breaking into the home of the complainant Balogun Tope and stealing his fowls. The men had been in his house before to steal.

BREAKING:185 Women And Children Abducted In Borno State.

According to a CNN breaking news, 185 women and children were kidnapped by Boko Haram men during a raid on Gumsuri village 20km from Chibok in Borno state on Sunday December 14th. Men were shot, homes were burnt and women taken away.

EFCC Arrest Nine Persons For Illegal Dealing In Petroleum Products.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today at a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State arraigned nine persons for offences bordering on illegally dealing in petroleum products. Clement Oguntuwase, Joseph Obie, Ifeoluwa Albert, Adams Amzat Akokhia, Isaac Ndidi Chima, Rafiu Momodu, Rasaq Mahmud, Godwin George, and Thomas Daniel were arraigned before Justice Lambo Akanbi on a 2-count charge of conspiracy and illegal dealing in petroleum products. 
The accused persons were intercepted aboard MB SKYE by men of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Pulo Shield on November 14, 2014 in Brass waters, close to Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC), Bayelsa State while transferring suspected crude oil from two vessels, MT CERGEN-D and MT ELIMINA, which were under investigation for alleged oil theft.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges. One of the counts read; "that youClement Oguntuwase , Joseph Obie , Ifeoluwa Albert, Adams Amzat Akokhia, IsaacNdidi Chima, Rafiu Momodu, Rasaq Mahmud, Godwin George, Thomas Daniel anda vessel, MB Skye and others now at large on or about the 13th and 14th November, 2014 at Brass within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did without appropriate licence deal in Petroleum Products to wit: about 388.53 Metric tonnes of Crude Oil siphoned from two vessels namely; MT CERGEN-D and MT ELIMINA which you conveyed in MB SKYE and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 1(17) (a) and (b) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act CAP M17 of the Revised Edition (Law of the Federation) Act 2007 and punishable under the same Act".

In view of their plea, the prosecuting counsel A.I Arogha asked for a date for the commencement of trial. But the defence counsel, A.A Adetunji orally presented a bail application and urged the court to grant the accused persons bail.

Justice Akanbi granted the accused persons bail in the sum of five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500, 000.00) each and a surety in like sum, who must reside within the jurisdiction of the court. The matter was adjourned till March 11, 2015 for commencement of trial.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has welcomed the emergence of former Military Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari as the Presidential flagbearer of Bola Tinubu's All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 general elections.
This will be the fourth time General Buhari will be contesting in the presidential elections. On each of the three previous occasions, he failed to articulate a vision of the future that was acceptable to Nigerians. On each occasion his brand of politics was rejected across Nigeria. Apart from changing to a dinner suit, Buhari, has not changed the tired ideas and provocative utterances that Nigerians rejected in previous elections.

Soldiers Nab Fulani Herdsmen Robbing On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway(Photo)

The Lagos State Police Command has detained two Fulani herdsmen, Mohammed Umar and Manu Hassan, for allegedly robbing motorists on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Our correspondent learnt that Umar and Hassan, who were herdsmen from the Ngaski area of Kebbi State, were arrested by soldiers attached to the OP MESA while they were robbing some people.Three locally-made rifles and some cartridges were recovered from the gang.

A notable lawyer and insurance practitioner, Mrs Ola Adeola, has been killed in her Lekki, Lagos home. She is the daughter of a former Chief Justice of Ogun State, Justice Ebenezer Craig.
The slain lawyer was allegedly killed Sunday night by her driver and house maid at her 108, Omisore Lane, Oniru Estate home.
