Did Patience Jonathan Really Arrested The Leader Of Female Protesters In Chibok?

According to reports from the Associated Press (AP), the First Lady of Nigeria, has reportedly ordered security officials to arrest the leader of the protest against the kidnapping of over 200 school girls in Chibok, Borno state.  This incident is taking place barely 24 hours after she was caught on camera, shedding tears when addressing stakeholders on the matter.

Saratu Angus Ndirpaya from Chibok town, confirmed that State Security Service agents arrested her and protest leader Naomi Mutah Nyadar to an Abuja Police Station. She was immediately released by the police, but Nyadar remains in detention.

Ndirpaya also revealed that the First Lady accused them of making up stories about the abductions.

"She told so many lies, that we just wanted the government of Nigeria to have a bad name, that we did not want to support her husband's rule," she told AP in a telephone interview.

According to her, other women present at the meeting chanted "yes, yes," when Patience Jonathan accused them of being Boko Haram members.

"They said we are Boko Haram, and that Mrs. Nyadar is a member of Boko Haram."

It is 21 days since the school girls were kidnapped by suspected Boko Haram militants in Chibok.
