Breaking: Court Of Appeal Gives CCT Go Ahead To Try Saraki


The court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has on Friday morning given the Code of Conduct Tribunal the go ahead to try Senate President Bukola Saraki's case.
In a unanimous verdict of the three man panel, Justice Moore Adumen of the Court of Appeal upheld the trial of Senate President, adding that the tribunal, which docked the Senate President on 22 September and 21 October was properly constituted.Relying on section 28 of the Interpretation Act, the learned judge said that the tribunal led by Danladi Umar could sit with the chairman and one other member.

Saraki had wanted the appellate court to stop his trial at the CCT, where he has been charged on 13-counts with false asset declaration.
