Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has revealed that not less than three countries are on standby to employ him, if/when his services is terminated by the Nigerian Football Federation. Following the national team’s dismal performance at the ongoing AFCON 2015 qualifiers, where they've only managed to get a single point from a possible nine, Keshi’s position is in jeopardy, as many believe he has nothing more to offer the team.
While speaking with AfricanFootball.com, Keshi said he’s not bothered about his job, owing to the fact that there are several other options for him to fall back to, should he lose his role as the Eagles’ gaffer.
He said, “It’s not about the game, it’s about other personal stuff. So, if tomorrow they say Keshi leave, there is no shaking because other two, three countries are waiting for me. My job is about hire and fire.”
Keshi, who has coached West African nations, Togo and Mali in the past, says he has been in situations like this before.
“Right now I have been to other places I have coached before I have not been fired. If it comes down to Nigeria, I have been here before, qualified Nigeria for 2002 World Cup with Amodu Shaibu, we were asked to leave,” he added.
Meanwhile, his agent recently claimed that Gabon, Angola and Equatorial Guinea have made tentative offers for him.
